Bells Bend Park is a relatively new park in Nashville that is being developed as a more natural park, rather than a -聙聹ball field park-聙聺. This time we will help build a new mountain biking trail in the park. 聽 Experienced trail volunteers and equipment will be provided to help us. 聽 Lunch is also provided, and hiking afterward is an option. 聽 Estimated trip duration: 聽 8 am -聙聯 3 pm.

CLIMBING @ Foster Falls, TN

Come enjoy the early spring weather with a day of climbing at Foster Falls! Located near Jasper, TN, this climbing destination boasts a great concentration of quality routes to test your climbing prowess. 聽 With a short approach hike, Foster Falls has a little bit to offer any person willing to push themselves in a vertical environment. 聽 From face and crack climbs to tenuous slabs and overhanging pump fests, this trip will provide a great opportunity for those looking to take their climbing to the next level. Price includes food, transportation, and technical climbing equipment. Climbing shoe rental is $5.50 extra. 聽 Estimated trip duration: 8 am – 7 pm. 聽Note:This is not a beginner trip. Participants should be able to comfortably 5.9 to really get the most out of this day.

BOULDERING @ Little Rock City, TN

Join the VU Outdoor Rec climbers for a day of ego-bruising, stone crushing, and awesomeness as we descend upon one of the east coast-聙聶s most renowned boulder fields, Little Rock City. 聽 This field is home to the many notable boulder problems that could keep the most seasoned climbers busy for years. 聽 Little Rock City is the location of the third and final leg of the country-聙聶s only outdoor climbing competition, the Triple Crown Bouldering Series. 聽 We will spend the day testing the limits of our strength as well as our skin! 聽 Price includes food, transportation, and technical climbing equipment. 聽 Climbing shoe rental is $5.50 extra. 聽 Space is limited to 8 people so don-聙聶t delay!!! 聽 Estimated trip duration: 7 am – 7 pm.

WHITEWATER 聽 KAYAKING @ Clear Creek, TN
** This trip is for Beginner Kayakers **

If the March showers bring us enough rain, then we-聙聶re off to paddle the beautiful waters of Clear Creek. This is a fantastic destination for beginner paddlers looking for something a bit more challenging than the Hiwassee. The consistent elevation drop and exciting turns through the boulders make for an exhilarating day on the river. 聽 Experience is necessary and a solid roll is a must. 聽 This trip is limited to the first 6 people who sign up. 聽Estimated trip duration: 聽 7 am to 10 pm.
Note: There will be two pool sessions available to participants of this trip to work with kayak instructors on your roll prior to the trip. 聽 Participation in at least one of these sessions is mandatory: 聽 Wed. March 19 or Wed. March 26 from 7:00 -聙聯 9:00 pm.

HIKING @ Fiery Gizzard Trail, S.C.S.P, TN

This trip will involve hiking a 9.6-mile loop of the pretty difficult, yet rewarding Fiery Gizzard Trial. 聽 Highlights will include cascading streams, waterfalls, and panoramic overlooks. 聽 Hiking boots are advised for this very rocky trail.

ROCK CLIMBING & CAMPING @ Squamish, British Columbia, Canada

This coming summer the Outdoor Rec. team is headed to western Canada to spend a week climbing in what is considered the recreation capital of Canada. 聽 We will fly into Seattle, WA, and drive 3.5 hours north to our campground at the foot of the Stawamus Chief (The second largest granite monolith in North America!). 聽 Squamish boasts a myriad of climbing areas that range from single pitch sport and trad, to towering 2000+ ft. multipitch climbs, and world class bouldering. 聽 Join our team as we venture north to this haven of granite to test our mettle on some of the globe-聙聶s best climbs! 聽 Prior climbing experience is required and participants should be able to comfortably climb 5.7 slab, face, and crack climbs to get the most out of this experience. 聽 More details are available at .
This trip is limited to 6 participants, SO DON-聙聶T DELAY TO SIGN UP!!! You will need a passport for this trip. Cost includes: vehicle transportation, food while camping, group equipment, climbing gear (except shoes), camping and entrance fees, lodging for the last night. 聽 Cost does NOT include: Airfare to and from Seattle. 聽 Participants must purchase their own tickets. 聽 Specific travel times will be discussed at our first Pre-Trip meeting.
